PATCH NOTE V0.2

Our new playtest is here!

⚠️ Important: This is an early development test build. It is not yet content-complete, some visual elements are still being integrated, translations may be incomplete, and you may encounter bugs.

The team has been working hard to raise the quality bar while adding new features, and we’re committed to delivering the best possible experience. Thank you for testing and helping us improve the game. Your feedback is an essential part of that process.

DEVELOPMENT PREVIEW

This update brings major improvements to the new player experience, deck building, in-game readability, and team coordination. We’re also introducing our first playable onboarding, player customization, in-game voice chat, a new batch of cards, and much more.

GAMEPLAY IMPROVEMENTS

Playable Onboarding

Learning HYVE is now more interactive.

The previous video tutorial has been replaced by our first playable onboarding experience. It automatically launches the first time you start the game and guides you through the core rules and fundamentals of HYVE.

Already completed it? You’ll still be able to launch it again whenever you need a refresher.

This is only the first step. More playable tutorials focused on specific mechanics are planned for future updates.

Card Overlay Rework

Card information should be useful without getting in your way.

We’ve reworked the card overlay and redistributed its information to improve overall readability while giving you access to more useful details.

Cards should now be easier to understand at a glance, whether you’re learning the game or making a quick decision during a match.

Team Deck Overlay

Knowing your teammate’s deck is an important part of playing together.

During match loading, before the Mulligan, you can now inspect both your own deck and your ally’s deck.

This gives you a chance to understand what your teammate is playing, identify potential synergies, and start thinking about your game plan before the match begins.

The overlay displays the cards included in each deck and does not track cards played during the match.

We’ve reworked the visual links between cards to improve readability.

Interactions and connections between cards should now be easier to identify during a match, helping you understand what’s happening on the board more quickly.

New Turn Timer

Turn pacing is changing with Patch 0.2.

Instead of every turn following the same timing, the amount of available time now increases as the match progresses:

  • Turn 1 — 50 seconds
  • Turn 2 — 60 seconds
  • Turn 3 — 70 seconds
  • … and so on, up to Turn 8 — 120 seconds

We’ve also introduced a new visual representation of the remaining time directly inside the Ready button, making it much easier to keep track of your turn without taking your eyes away from the action.

Clearer Keywords

We’ve revisited the wording of our card keywords.

Keywords have been rewritten to make their meaning clearer and more consistent across the game, making cards easier to understand for both new and returning players.

PROGRESSION SYSTEMS

Collection & Deck Building

The deck-building screen has received a major rework.

You can now browse the different versions of cards and progressively unlock new cards by playing and earning in-game currency.

Selecting a card now opens a dedicated information overlay where you can easily check its effect and associated keywords.

The goal is to make exploring your collection, understanding your cards, and building your decks much easier.

New Cards & Progression

A new batch of cards is joining HYVE.

Each side now starts with a 15-card Starter Deck, giving you a foundation to jump straight into matches.

As you play and win games, you’ll progressively unlock new cards. These cards can then be used to improve, modify, and personalize your starting decks as your collection grows.

SOCIAL FEATURES

Account Customization

Make your profile yours. This new patch introduces the first version of our new Account Customization feature.

From your player icon, you can now customize your avatar, banner, title, frame and badges.

This is the first iteration of the system, and more customization options — including new elements to unlock — will be added in future updates.

In-Game Voice Chat

Communication with your teammate just got easier.

You’ll automatically join a voice channel with your ally when entering a match. You can mute your own microphone or mute your teammate at any time.

Your preferred microphone can also be selected directly from the game settings.

Coordinate your plays, discuss your strategy, or panic together. Your call.

FEEDBACK AND BUG REPORTING

If you have any questions, feedback, or suggestions, don’t hesitate to share them! A “YOUR FEEDBACK” button is available in the game’s main menu.

If you encounter an issue:

  1. Take a screenshot.
  2. Describe as clearly as possible what happened and what you expected to happen.
  3. Post everything in the #feedback-bugs channel on Discord. You can find an invite to the HYVE Discord in several places throughout the game.

Thank you all for your support and participation. Have fun, and enjoy the game!
